S. Korea-U.S. military alliance committed to ensuring it is prepared: Gen. Abrams
  • 5 years ago
There have been growing concerns about South Korea and the U.S. scaling down their joint military drills... but United States Forces Korea Commander General Robert Abrams dismissed such worries.
In an interview with Yonhap News Agency on Wednesday,... Abrams said,... the ROK-U.S. military alliance is absolutely committed to ensuring that its force is ready to deal with any crisis.... or potential hostilities.
Mentioning how Seoul and Washington used to publicize their military exercises in the past,... he said that's been changed amid ongoing peace efforts with Pyeongyang.
The General added.... that American troops stationed in South Korea have nothing to do with any potential peace treaty with North Korea in the future,... and that it's solely an alliance decision.
