N. Korean leader wraps up official visit to Vietnam, heads home earlier than scheduled

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is set to wrap up his good-will visit to Vietnam and head back to Pyeongyang in the coming hours.
Sources say Kim will depart a few hours earlier than originally scheduled.

Hi Mark, as you mentioned Kim Jong-un's return trip has been brought forward to early Saturday afternoon, local time.
Earlier, the Vietnamese government said it was closing the road from Hanoi to Dong Dang railway station at 3 p.m. today (that's 5 p.m., Korea time), but the time has changed to 10 a.m. (around now),... signaling a change in Kim's schedule.
There had been speculation Kim would visit Vietnam's popular tourist destination of Ha Long Bay or industrial sites in Hai Phong.. but since President Trump pulled the plug on their summit early,... such visits appear to have been scrapped.
Ahead of his departure, the North Korean leader dropped by the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to briefly pay his respects, as his grandfather Kim Il-sung had close personal ties with the former Vietnamese leader.
So Kim's motorcade is probably hitting the streets now, bringing an end to his five-day stay in Vietnam.
He has a long journey ahead of him,... at least two-and-a-half days on his armored train, but do we know if Kim is heading straight back to North Korea or taking a detour?
Well.... that remains to be seen.
As always, Kim's schedule is a tightly guarded secret for security purposes, but there's speculation he could stop in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, an area known for its historic reform efforts and rapid economic development.
He could also stop in Beijing for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping,... but nothing has been confirmed... so we'll have to wait and see.
