News X: Fate of Food Security Bill to be decided today

Despite multiple adjournments since morning, the Govt is trying its best to push for the Food Security Bill to passed today. The Government still maintaining that its open to amendments in the Food Security Bill.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held a meeting with his ministerial colleagues as part of preparations for a last-ditch effort to get the legislation passed. The govt claims that the food bill will provide cheap grain to nearly two thirds of the population.
A day after Congress reached out to Mulayam Singh Yadav seeking support for passage of the Food Security Bill, the Samajwadi Party decided to support the legislation. SP however will move amendments seeking to give farmers their due for crops and giving more grains per person.
