Gujarat: SC to pass verdict on Lokayukta appointment case - NewsX

The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict on Gujarat govt's plea against the appointment of retired judge R A Mehta as state Lokayukta. Gujarat govt had appealed that the appointment was done unilaterally by Governor Kamla Beniwal without consulting the govt. The Gujarat High Court had upheld the governor's decision last January. A bench of Supreme Court justices B S Chauhan and F M Ibrahim Kalifulla is to pass the order on the state's appeal against the HC order.
