Cauvery river issue: Jayalalithaa to meet Shettar on Thursday - NewsX

Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa will try to work out a solution to the Cauvery water sharing issue with her Karnataka counterpart Jagadish Shettar in Bangalore on Thursday. Sources said that Jaya is likely to make a forceful appeal to Karnataka to release water to save lakhs of hectares of the long-term samba crop. Officials in Bangalore said the time and venue will be finalised after Shettar returns from New Delhi today.
