Security has been tightened across Karnataka over the flagrant issue of Cauvery river water sharing. 20,000 police personnel including those from Karnataka State Reserve Police and City Armed Reserve have been deployed. The Federation of Kannada organisations has called for Karnataka bandh today in protest against the Cauvery River Authority's direction to the state to release water to Tamil Nadu.
