NewsX has learnt that the Ministry of Defence has finalized the successor of Army Chief V K Singh. Gen Bikram Singh will take over as the new Army Chief when Gen V K Singh retires on 31st may this year. His name has been sent to the Appointments Committee for approval. Gen Bikram Singh is now the GOC-in-C of the Eastern Command. He will be the senior most Commanders once Gen V K Singh retires, so the government there playing safe and going by the seniority principle in picking the next Army Chief.
