The Govt is going all out to reach a compromise with an upset Army Chief before the row over his age gets even uglier. Sources have told NewsX that the govt is mulling offering the Army Chief a plum post if he agrees to retire this year. One of the positions being considered by the govt, is the post of the Chief of Defence Staff, a post which was first mooted after the Kargil War, but has been lying in cold storage ever since.
