President Donald Trump said Friday local time,... that trade talks with China are going very well and the U.S. is closer than ever... to having a "real" trade deal.
His comments came after two days of high-level talks wrapped up in Beijing... in which the two sides reported progress.
Negotiations are set to continue next week in Washington... aimed at signing a memorandum of understanding before Trump’s self-imposed March 1st deadline.
The talks cover a wide range of issues, including U.S. demands over intellectual property protection.
Citing prgress in talks,... Trump said he may extend the current deadline to accommodate a deal... and keep tariffs on Chinese goods from rising.
