Seoul's finance chief is calling for compromise in society... when it comes to technology used in the so-called sharing economy, which some groups see as a threat to their livelihoods.
Speaking at a forum with representatives of small and mid-sized companies, Hong Nam-ki highlighted, that businesses related to the sharing economy need to grow,... but resistance in some quarters is holding them back.
For instance, apps for carpooling are opposed by the taxi industry, and tools for treating patients remotely... evoked negative response by the medical industry.
The Minister emphasized, government should work on building a "social consensus"... by finding the opposing sides a win-win deal.
