Trade ministry releases export, import figures for Jan.

Data released by South Korea's ministry that oversees trade... shows Korean exports increased by five-point-eight percent in January compared to the same period last year to nearly 46-point-4-billion U.S. dollars.
The country's imports increased by one-point-seven-percent on-year to record more than 45-billion dollars.
The ministry said despite an uptick in exports last month... a slump was witnessed in the country's main export item semiconductors and petrochemical goods... citing a drop in prices of semiconductors and international oil.
It also pointed to external uncertainties stemming from the trade dispute between China and the U.S.
