Five days of rest might've been too long for South Korea,... as the players looked drained during their round of 16 clash against the heavy underdogs Bahrain.
However,... striker Hwang Hee-chan gave South Korea a one-nil lead with his strike in the 43rd minute.
It remained that way until Bahrain leveled the match at one-a-piece in the 77th minute to force the game into extra time.
Defender Kim Jin-soo was the hero in the end... as his header flew into the net in the 106th minute of extended play to make it 2-1... and give South Korea a ticket to the last eight.
Speaking after the match,... South Korea's head coach Paulo Bento said that while he was happy with the win, the team didn't play well and made a lot of unforced errors.
Son Heung-min, South Korea's superstar striker, looked a bit off his game,... having only joined the international squad last week after flurry of high-stakes games with his EPL club, Tottenham Hotspur.
