Dust pollution in Korea triggers 'emergency measures'
If you're in Korea, you may have noticed the stuffy air and yellow skies this weekend.
The country is under especially bad fine dust pollution.
Levels of ultra-fine dust are high all across the nation except on Jeju Island.
Alerts have been issued in the capital area,... in Ulsan, Busan... and the Chungcheong and Jeollabuk-do provinces.
And for the first time this year,... emergency measures are in effect today until 9 PM in Seoul, Incheon and much of Gyeonggi-do Province.
That means thermal power plants will be limited to 80 percent of capacity.
More than 100 businesses that emit air pollutants will have to cut their operating hours.
But there will be no vehicle restrictions.
The ministry advises people to stay home... and to wear masks if they have to go outside.
