South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon wished business circles the best year to come and vowed to do his utmost to help out.
At a New Year's celebratory event on Thursday, the PM marked the nation reaching the 30-thousand U.S. dollar mark in per capita income and the population exceeding 50 million people, making South Korea the seventh country to achieve such feat last year.
Prime Minister Lee praised business representatives for enduring recent uncertainties in and out of the nation, such as the U.S.-China trade dispute throughout 2018.
The PM also vowed to take preemptive steps to ease tensions, encourage investment, support new industries to prosper, and continue deregulation efforts.
