Yes, so you should definitely bundle up like this to celebrate the New Year's Day as freezing weather, along with strong winds, continue to affect the peninsula. In fact, the mercury in Seoul is forecast to remain in negative territory during New Year's Day.
For those of you checking out the first sunrise of the year tomorrow,... the sky condition is favorable nationwide except for Jeju Island. In Seoul, the sun will rise at 7:47 AM Korea Time and a little earlier in southeast cities such as Pohang and Ulsan.
Make sure you are dressed warmly to see the sun,... as Seoul welcomes the first sunrise of 2019 at minus 8 degrees Celsius, while Daegu and Gyeongju begin at minus 6 and minus 5 degrees, respectively.
Seoul will stay below zero all day, while other regions rise to higher readings, but still cold nevertheless due to the wind chill factor.
