S. Korean stocks fall in early Wednesday trading after heavy losses on Wall Street

South Korea's benchmark KOSPI fell more than one percent in early trading today.... after heavy Christmas Eve losses on Wall Street.
It's the first time in six weeks for the KOSPI to fall below the 20-30 level.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ is also down around one percent.
The Bank of Korea held an emergency meeting this morning.... to monitor markets and discuss possible countermeasures.
This comes after the Dow,... S&P 500.... and the Nasdaq all shed more than two percent on Monday on the U.S. government shutdown and President Trump's verbal attack on the Federal Reserve's recent rate hike.
