President Moon Jae-in expressed his determination to make South Korea a nation that is more inclusive.
Building an inclusive nation is the government's key policy and we are making every effort to do so. Because no matter how poor one might be, every human being deserves to live a decent life.
In a meeting with his top aides, the South Korean leader said the government's pledge will become more tangible as it expands health insurance coverage for hospital expenses, sonograms and MRIs.
He also pledged financial support for families taking care of relatives with dementia and other disabilities, as well as support for families raising children and newlyweds.
The President emphasized it's important for his administration to cast a wider and denser social welfare net... so that the public can benefit from it.
Moon also called for closer cooperation with relevant organizations and local governments to make Korea an "inclusive" country.
