U.S. Congress adopts resolution recognizing importance of S. Korea-U.S. alliance

The U.S. House of Representatives has adopted a resolution reaffirming the South Korea-U.S. alliance.
Submitted by the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Ed Royce,.... the resolution says.... the allies' bond serves as a linchpin of regional stability and bilateral security.
It also says... the alliance exemplifies the broad and deep military, diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between Seoul and Washington.
Before the resolution was put to vote,.... Royce emphasized that the allies need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in keeping pressure on North Korea to peacefully end the regime's nuclear and missile programs.
