Ruling party lawmakers, Blue House officials and the government met this morning to discuss how to implement the 418 billion U.S. dollar budget for 2019.
Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon and the newly appointed deputy prime minister Hong Nam-ki attended the meeting.
The PM said next year's economic outlook cannot be seen as optimistic and called on lawmakers and officials to closely cooperate on the budget plan to boost the economy and create jobs.
He also said 70 percent of the proposed budget should be implemented in the first half of the coming year to prevent the economy from slowing down.
