Total amount of petroleum products sent to North Korea add up to around half annual cap set by UNSC

The amount of refined petroleum sent to North Korea up until October is reported to be about half the UN Security Council's total annual cap on imports.
The UN Security Council sanctions committee revealed the September and October figures for Beijing's supply of refined petroleum products to Pyeongyang, which bring China's total exports for the year to 14-thousand-7-hundred-sixty tons.
When added to Russia's 15-thousand tons of exports up until September, the total amount stands at almost 30-thousand tons.
This is about half of the 500-thousand-barrel annual limit the UNSC set for North Korea's petroleum imports in December last year.
While Russia is already late in submitting its figures for October,... many watchers estimate the actual amount of petroleum sent to the North to be much greater, considering the many illegal ship-to-ship transfers.
