Exit polls predict close contest in Madhya Pradesh, Will BJP bag 4th term?

Exit polls show a close contest between the ruling BJP and the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, with the surveys predicting starkly different results. Some exit polls show an edge for the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh while others predict a majority for the Congress.

Cvoter-Republic TV has given an edge to the Congress in the state where Shivraj Singh Chouhan is seeking a 4th straight term. The survey gives the BJP 90-106 seats; to Congress it gives 110-126 seats and 6-22 seats to others.

Madhya Pradesh has 230 seats and the majority mark for a party to win is 116.


The Axis My India - India Today poll predicts a range of 102 to 120 seats for the BJP in the state. This survey gives 104 to 122 to the Congress indicating a tight race.

ABP News- CSDS has predicted a win for Congress in Madhya Pradesh, giving 94 seats to the BJP, 126 to the Congress and 10 seats to others.


However a Times NOW-CNX survey predicts a clear majority for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh with 126 seats. This one says that the Congress will win 89 seats, a marked improvement over its tally in the last election but still trailing the BJP.
