A fire yesterday knocked out TV, mobile and internet service to potentially millions of people in the Seoul area subscribed to communications provider KT Corporation.
Many businesses have lost even the ability to process credit card transactions.
As of this morning, KT says more than half of its services have been restored.
Specifically, the company said it has restored 60 percent of services at mobile base stations and 70 percent of internet lines.
On Saturday, a KT building in Seoul's Ahyeon neighborhood caught fire, paralyzing its mobile and internet networks in much of the capital.
KT said that as of 10:30 this morning an investigation is underway into what caused the fire.
It said getting the systems back to normal will likely take at least a week.
