S. Korea commemorates victims on 8th anniversary of Yeonpyeong-do island attack

South Korea is marking a solemn anniversary on this Friday.
Eight years ago on this day,... North Korea unleashed an artillery attack on South Korea's Yeonpyeong-do Island close to the border in the West Sea,... killing four people, including two soldiers.
To remember the day,.... South Korea's Marine Corps held a memorial ceremony this morning at Daejeon National Cemetery.
Marine Commander Lieutenant General Jun Jin-goo said.... the Marine Corps will continue to protect peace on the Korean Peninsula with its formidable strength,... stressing true peace can only be maintained when a nation can protect itself.
