The ruling Democratic Party of Korea and government officials from related ministries have agreed to revise bills related to privacy to prevent abuse or misuse of personal information.
During a meeting at the National Assembly on Wednesday, the two sides agreed to adopt a system that replaces personally identifiable information with artificial data, making data suitable for analysis without infringing on people's privacy.
They also agreed to allow such data to be used in scientific research, statistics and for other purposes that can benefit the public.
