Rival parties to hold hearing over documents showing alleged plans to invoke marital law

The National Assembly's defense committee will hold a hearing regarding a controversial military document containing detailed procedures for the potential invocation of martial law.
Rival parties had agreed on the matter in July after a joint probe by the military and prosecution.
The documents drawn up by the Defense Security Command,... showed.... plans to consider invoking martial law,... if the Constitutional Court's ruling on the impeachment of then-president Park Geun-hye caused public unrest.
On other matters,.... rival parties agreed to create a consultative body within the National Assembly,... in order to implement the agreements reached during the meeting between the president and the various party floor leaders earlier this week.
Through the body,... the parties will work on pending bills,... especially those related to expanding the flexible working system and addressing the country's ultra-low birthrate.
