More than 7,000 people, from all walks of life, took part in the three-day Seoul Kimchi Festival to make the traditional Korean dish kimchi in the center of Seoul. The kimchi is known to be donated to needy neighbors to help them to prepare for the country’s chilly winter.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government, one of the organizers of the event, said on November 4 that a total of 165 tons of cabbages and radishes, mashed together with red chili powder and other Korean spices, were turned into kimchi during the charity festival held at a plaza in front of the City Hall of the South Korean capital from November 2 to 4.
