Thousands evacuated as Typhoon Yutu batters the Philippines

Footage from the Philippines taken this morning showing Typhoon Yutu battering homes and the aftermath two hours later.

Heavy rain and strong winds struck Cauayan City in the Isabela province in the north of the country.

The typhoon had devastated islands in the Western Pacific before slamming into the Philippines causing storms, landslides and flooding.

Yutu, the 18th typhoon to hit the Philippines this year, swept across the main island of Luzon on Tuesday (October 30) with wind speeds of 140 km per hour and gusts of up to 230 kph, and was expected to exit in the afternoon.
