Super Typhoon Yutu slams into Northern Marianas

A Super typhoon has wreaked havoc on the Northern Mariana Islands, destroying hundreds of homes.

Aram…what's the latest?
Well Mark… Super Typhoon Yutu was bringing sustained winds of at least 265 kilometers per hour when it passed directly over the islands of Saipan and Tinian on Wednesday.
The islands became an American territory after World War II, and are home to some 50,000 people.
It has left communities in ruins with residents likening the aftermath to a warzone.
Officials say it was one of the worst storms they have ever seen.
Vehicles were overturned, power lines were ripped out and storm surges of two meters were recorded.
Residents are being urged to stay indoors as hundreds of rescuers try clear up the rubble and look for survivors.
Saipan's main airport has also been left in ruins, leaving travelers, including some one thousand Korean tourists, stranded.
There are reports of one fatality - a woman in her 40s who died in a building that collapsed as the storm hit.
Dozens of others are said to have been injured, but officials are yet to issue an official figure.
Yutu will continue to barrel towards southeastern Asia this weekend and eventually head to the open waters of the Philippine Sea.
