Foreign direct investment in South Korea reached 20 billion U.S. dollars in October -- the shortest period of time that it has taken for the nation's FDI to reach the milestone.
On Monday at the Korea-EU Investment Roundtable in Paris, the Seoul's trade ministry said the country had secured 20-point-2 billion U.S. dollars of foreign investment this year.
Meaning South Korea achieved the feat a month earlier than last year, when it passed the 20 billion dollar benchmark in late November.
The country has surpassed 20 billion U.S. dollars of foreign direct investment each year since 2015.
