Stubble Burning: Pollution in Delhi worsened; air quality reaches 'unhealthy' category
  • 6 years ago
Pollution in Delhi worsened in the past 2 days as the air quality reached the 'unhealthy' category as stubble burning in neighbouring state has begun. Farmers of Punjab & Haryana have started burning stubble on fields despite several warnings by their respective state governments. Stubble was burnt in Rampur Jhamloti village in Samrala Tehsil and some other parts of Punjab. Farmers said the government could continue issuing advisories, but unless a viable alternative was given to them, they had no option but to burn the farms.
