Rival parties hold interpellation session on economic issues
  • 6 years ago
The National Assembly is holding another round of questioning sessions of government officials today,... this time.... focusing on the economy.
Rival parties are debating the government's income-led growth policies,... including the rapid hike in minimum wage.... as well as the recent slew of gloomy economic data.
Another hot potato is the controversy surrounding Shim Jae-cheol, a lawmaker of the main opposition Liberty Korea Party -- who disclosed confidential government data on the fiscal budget and other state statistics without authorization.
The ruling party has called it a criminal act,... while the main opposition party claims that what Shim did was normal activity to prepare for a parliamentary probe.
