National Assembly to hold final interpellation session
  • 6 years ago
It's the third and final day of the parliamentary interpellation session.
Today, top government officials will be grilled on matters regarding education, culture and social issues.
Rival parties are expected to clash over the creation of an independent body that will be tasked with probing government officials, lawmakers or even the president.
Another area of dispute is the fielding of a joint Korean women's ice hockey team during the Olympics -- with the opposition likely to criticize the government for what it claims is incompetence in preparing for the Games overall.
Rival lawmakers are also expected to bring up the issue of sexual assault,... following revelations by female prosecutors that were victims -- which triggered the worldwide #MeToo movement in Korea.
