South Korea's overall industrial production went up in August…while equipment investment fell for the sixth month in a row.
According to Statistics Korea on Tuesday, industrial output in August increased by zero-point-five percent from the previous month.
The agency said production in the mining, manufacturing and services sectors led the growth.
Meanwhile... equipment investment dropped by one-point-four percent during the same period... falling for the sixth consecutive month.
This is the longest run of declines since 1997...when South Korea was struggling from the Asian financial crisis.
Statistics Korea attributed the fall to a decrease in investment in semiconductors.
