Chuseok gatherings often also mean more drinking, but a report by the World Health Organization warns people not to drink too much.
It says, some 3-million people died in 2016 due to alcohol related reasons,... that translates to one in 20 deaths worldwide.
Of the deaths attributed to alcohol,... the largest causes of death were related to injuries -- such as those from road accidents or suicides -- followed by digestive and cardiovascular diseases.
Other causes of death include infectious diseases, cancers and mental disorders.
The WHO report said that too many people are suffering from the consequences of the harmful use of alcohol,... adding that governments need to do more to meet global targets and to reduce the burden of alcohol on societies.
The organization says alcohol is consumed by an estimated 2-point-3 billion people worldwide.
