Seoul to recall authority to punish taxis that refuse passengers

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is taking further steps to try and prevent taxis from refusing customers.
The city government has decided to take control over the authority to punish taxi drivers, which had previously been under the jurisdiction of district authorities.
It will also punish taxi drivers who receive complaints through the Dasan Call Center,.... along with drivers from private taxi firms who refuse to accept customers.
The city is taking the measures as the punishment rates for taxi drivers vary drastically between districts,.... from 85 percent in Yeongdeungpo-gu District to just 12 percent in Gangnam-gu District.
To report taxi drivers who refuse service..., passengers should gather evidence such as recording a video on their smartphone, and then dial 1-2-zero to report the case to Dasan Call Center.
