A huge column of toxic black smoke from an industrial fire in West Footscray stretched out over the western Melbourne suburbs on August 30.More than 80 firefighters and over 20 units, including aerial equipment, responded to the fire and alerted that “toxic smoke may impact an area 2 Kilometres around Somerville Road and Paramount Road West Footscray,” warning people to avoid the area.News reports said multiple explosions were heard.
