Fire at Beijing's Xiedao Resort Spews Giant Smoke Plumes Into Sky

A fire broke out at the Xiedao Resort in northeastern Beijing on April 30, sending giant plumes of black smoke above the surrounding neighborhood.According to reports from Chinanews.org and HK01, the fire appeared to originate from one of the resort’s parking lots. This is corroborated by video posted to social media showing smoke billowing near the vicinity of several tour buses.Twenty-seven fire engines were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze, according to the Beijing News microblog, citing CCTV. There were no casualties immediately reported.
