Northern regions to be dumped by torrential rain _ 082918

Good afternoon, those in the northern and central regions should brace for another round of torrential showers. Especially, the northern parts of Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do provinces, the areas around Pocheon and Cheorwon could see up to 250 millimeters of rainfall. Seoul is forecast to see 80 to 150 millimeters of precipitation until Thursday.

Rain will pick up in the afternoon in the capital area, with heavy rain alerts to expand to more northern regions. Meanwhile, weather in the southern regions will feel very much like summer with a heatwave advisory in some parts including Daegu and Gwangju.

Highs in Daegu and Gyeongju will be 34 degrees Celsius while Seoul and Chuncheon will get up to 28 and 27 degrees respectively along with torrential rainfall. Heavy rain could cripple traffic so drive with extra care.
