Heavy monsoon rain to hit central regions with rain advisory
  • 6 years ago
After the clear skies at the weekend, we are seeing heavy monsoon showers here in Seoul this Tuesday, with more heavy rain expected.
Let's go over to Lee Jee-hyun who is at Jamsoo-gyo Bridge for us. Jee-hyun, how's it looking?

Good afternoon, Ji-yoon. As you said, what a change in the weather. Here Jamsu Bridge could get off limit to the traffic as it could be submerged by the flood water in any minute. Check the traffic information before leave. Rain could pick up as the day goes on so ba careful during heavy rains.

A heavy rain advisory was issued for the capital area early this morning, and we could see more torrential rain along with thunder and lightning at times.

How much rain will we get? We could see up to 120 millimeters of heavy rain while southern regions will see light showers today, but those showers will get a lot heavier tomorrow.

There's some relief from the recent searing heatwave.. Seoul and Busan will be a lot breezier at 25 degrees Celsius. But Jeju Island will be hot under mostly sunny skies today at 32 degrees.

Rain will linger in Seoul until early tomorrow morning while southern regions and Jeju Island will see frequent showers later in the week.

back to you, jiyoon.
