Southern regions to batter heavy monsoon rain _ 062718

Good morning. Most of the rainfall in the upper region has let up and the monsoonal front has moved southwards.

Heavy showers are soaking southern parts of the country dropping 30 millimeters rain in an hour. Parts of the Jelloa-do, Chuncheong-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces are seeing torrential rainfall.

Heavy rain warnings have been issued in those regions while other southern regions are under heavy rain advisories, so use caution if you need to travel.

Up to 100 millimeters of monsoon showers are expected which could lead to flooding in some southern provinces, also watch out for lightning strikes.

Temperatures will be similar to a tad higher than yesterday, lows are kicking off at 20 degrees in Seoul while Jeju had a very warm night waking up to 25 degrees this morning.

In fact, parts of Jeju are under a heat wave advisory. Highs will get up to 32 degrees while Seoul will also notice temperatures rising couple degrees to 27... along with high humidity.
