South Korea's consumer sentiment index hit record low since April 2017

South Korea's consumer sentiment has fallen below the one-hundred mark for the first time since March of 2017.
The Bank of Korea says,.... the composite consumer sentiment index in August dropped one-point-eight points from the previous month.... to 99-point-two points....over sluggish job data, rising consumer prices... and the U.S.-China trade spat.
A reading below 100 means..... there are more pessimists than optimists about the economy.
The sub-index for households' economic outlook fell five points to 82,.... and the sub-index on current economic conditions fell seven points.
Despite the government's efforts to create more jobs and boost wages,.... outlook on job opportunity dropped two points to 85.
