Wrap-up of 21st Inter-Korean Family Reunions

How did you feel, covering the story throughout the week?
Well, some scenes of the family reunions really got to me and watching the footage myself, I did shed a few tears with the families meeting each other up there in North Korea.
We could see sisters and brothers putting their faces together, holding each others hands tight,... and some even bowing to the buses as they left.
But Ji-yoon, what's really heartbreaking is that these are only a few lucky ones that got to meet their immediate families after a long wait.
Remember, 70 years have passed since the Korean War and most people in these war-torn families are now very old.
At this point, it's really rare to see sons and daughters meeting their parents. Most cases are reunions of sisters and brothers... aunts and uncles and nieces... or cousins even.
There are still 50-thousand people waiting to meet their loved ones across the border, but 3 to 4-thousand separated family members die every year.
