Rare football match between two Koreas held in Seoul
  • 6 years ago
The first inter-Korean workers' football match in three years has been taking place in Seoul this afternoon.
Labor union members from both sides came together for the friendly match at Seoul's Sangam World Cup Stadium.
The competition began at 4PM, Korea time, in front of 30-thousand spectators,… and features two friendly games between two labor union groups from the South and North.
The match is the fourth of its kind,… following two in Pyongyang in 1999 and 2015, and one in the South Korean city of Changwon in 2007.
The match marks the first inter-Korean private exchange since President Moon Jae-in held his first historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at Panmunjom in April.
