South and North Korean officials to visit Mt. Kumgang to check on pests

Officials from the two Koreas will visit North Korea's Mount Kumgang today on a research mission for future forestation projects.
A group of around ten officials from Seoul's Unification Ministry and the Forest Service will cross the eastern land border for the one-day trip.
The visit will focus on checking pests in the area and identifying if there are any diseases affecting the plants and trees.
They hope to determine which types of insecticides or pesticides they'll have to use.
The trip comes after North Korea requested they specifically visit Mount Kumgang.
The two Koreas agreed to cooperate for forestation in North Korea at their forestry talks a month ago.
