Notoriously cramped and dense, space is very rare. The moment you look up, your senses are bombarded with visual overstimulation from never-ending neon lights. But in such a populated and consumerist-driven city, neon plays a huge role in attracting attention. This has essentially made neon lights and signs a trademark of Hong Kong.
