U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reveals the Trump administration's goal on North Korea.
He says the U.S. goal is for the regime's denuclearization by the END of President Donald Trump's first term.
Briefing the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday, America's top diplomat said Washington is engaged in patient diplomacy to persuade Pyongyang to give up its nuclear weapons program,... but will not let the process "drag out to no end."
Pompeo added that President Trump remains upbeat about the prospects for North Korea's denuclearization and that there has been progress.
The diplomat did admit that North Korea continues to produce fissile material as part of its nuclear weapons program,... even while making progress toward denuclearization.
