Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday donated 200 cows to villagers in Rweru Model Village in Rwanda under the Girinka programme. The Girinka programme was initiated to provide one cow to each poor family, after the Rwandan genocide in 1994. PM Modi is on a five-day, three-nation tour of Africa. He signed multiple agreements in Rwanda to provide loans worth $200 million to the East African nation. After the Rwanda and Uganda visit, the PM will make his way to the BRICS Summit.
