PM begins three-nation Africa tour, greeted with “Modi Modi” chants in Rwanda

PM Narendra Modi was met with loud chants saying “Modi Modi” and “Vande Mataram” in Rwanda’s Kigali as he left the stage after addressing the Indian diaspora gathered there.

Rwanda is the first stop on PM Modi’s three-nation tour of Africa. He is later scheduled to visit Uganda and South Africa. In Kigali, Modi announced a new diplomatic mission in Rwanda and a $200 million credit line for the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will gift 200 cows in a symbolic gesture to a village in Rwanda, his first stop in a five-day, three-nation tour of Africa which begins Monday.
