Congress President Rahul Gandhi has said that he has been having discussions with his sister Priyanka Gandhi for a long time about her formally joining politics. “Her pushback to me earlier was that her children are young. But now that they are grown up she has entered politics,” he said. Priyanka Gandhi has been appointed Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East. Describing his relationship with Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul said that he and Priyanka were very much alike due to their shared struggles. “We have been through a lot together and are very close. But we give each other space.” Rahul Gandhi was speaking at an interaction with a group of intellectuals at the Odisha Dialogue in Bhubaneswar.
