Seoul court to deliver verdict on charges former president violated election laws
  • 6 years ago
In an appeals case, prosecutors have demanded 30-years of prison time for the disgraced former President Park Geun-hye,... for her role in the massive power abuse scandal -- which eventually brought down her administration.
The prosecution also requested the former leader pay a penalty of 104-million dollars.
The demands are much harsher than the 24-years behind bars and 15-million dollar fine that Park received in her previous sentencing in April
And in less than two hours from now,... the sentencing hearing from Park's second trial will take place.
That hearing will be broadcast live from 2 p.m. Korean time.
The Seoul Central District Court will deliver its verdict on charges that Park violated electoral laws by secretly aiding and funding campaign preparations for her political allies ahead of the 2016 general election.
